Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of chirbireyriverfest.com and your registration for and attendance at Chirbirey River Fest, held 25 to 27 September 2026 on the banks of the Rangeet river at “Chirbirey”, organised by the Sikkim Anglers’ Association (“the Association”, Regd. No. 1130/LRD, Gangtok, Sikkim).
1. Registration and passes
Registration through this website is how you book a pass for the festival. Passes are priced per head in Indian Rupees (₹) and every pass, with what it includes, is listed on the registration section of this website. Stall and volunteer registrations are expressions of interest and carry no charge.
Payment for a pass is made to the Sikkim Anglers’ Association by UPI or by bank transfer. The Association’s payment QR and account details are shown as soon as you register and are emailed to you with your order reference. Your registration is confirmed only once payment has been received and the transaction reference (UTR) you provide has been verified. Until then your registration is pending and no place is held. Card and net banking payment is being added.
A booking for four or more people receives a flat 25% discount on the passes. It is applied automatically at checkout and is shown on your order before you pay. It applies to the passes only, not to add-on activity seats. One booking covers up to six people; for a larger group, contact the festival team.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you submit. The Association may contact you on the phone number or email you provide for festival communication.
2. Attendance and conduct
- Attendance is at your own risk. The festival takes place outdoors on a working riverbank; surfaces are uneven and weather-dependent.
- Children and young participants must remain under the supervision of their guardians at all times, especially at the water’s edge.
- Visitors must follow the instructions of festival marshals and Association officials, including any river-safety decisions taken on the day.
- The Association may refuse entry or require any person to leave the festival ground for conduct that endangers people, the river, or the event.
3. Angling and the river
- All angling at the festival is strictly catch-and-release and governed by the Association’s competition rules, issued to registered anglers before the fest.
- Fishing outside designated beats, times, or rules is prohibited.
- Littering on the riverbank or in the water is prohibited. Waste points are provided across the ground.
4. Programme changes
The Association may alter the programme, timings, or activities, including pausing or cancelling water activities, where weather, river conditions, or safety require it. Such changes do not entitle visitors to compensation beyond what the Return & Refund Policy provides for paid services.
5. Photography and media
The festival is photographed and filmed. By attending you consent to appearing incidentally in festival photography and film used for the Association’s archives, reporting, and promotion. If you would prefer a specific image of you not be used, contact the Association and it will be withdrawn where reasonably possible.
6. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Association’s liability arising from the festival or this website is limited to amounts actually paid by you for festival services. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Gangtok, Sikkim have jurisdiction over any dispute.
